This is with reference to the topic of revalidation as spelt out in META manual and further to Engine Circular No.15 dtd 20-10-2003, where in modalities for upgradation & revalidation are mentioned. This Directorate has been receiving queries regarding the time span in which the upgradation course can be attended. It has also been observed that candidates are attending revalidation/upgradation course much before the expiry date of the certificate. Considering the overall situation it has been decided that a candidate should attend the upgradation/revalidation course and apply for revalidation not before six months prior to expiry of the certificate.
