Green Shipping Fuels and Power-to-X (PtX) Workshop and Training

The Directorate General of Shipping participated in the Green Shipping Fuels and Power-to-X (PtX) Workshop and Training held from 20–22 January 2026 at The Taj Ambassador Hotel, New Delhi, alongside key national and international stakeholders including MNRE, Danish Maritime Authority, GIZ India, the Royal Embassy of Denmark, Danish Energy Agency, GH2 India and TERI (NCoEGPS). The three-day programme focused on PtX fuel pathways, maritime decarbonisation strategies, IMO lifecycle assessment guidelines, green fuel certification frameworks and enabling port infrastructure for green shipping corridors. DGS was represented by Shri Pravin Kapale, Engineer and Ship Surveyor-cum-Deputy Director General, Shri Pravin Roy, Engineer and Ship Surveyor-cum-Deputy Director General and Shri Devarshi Datta, Consultant (SEEED–Engineering), with presentations delivered on the National Green Shipping Policy (NGSP) outlining India’s regulatory preparedness and strategic roadmap for advancing sustainable and alternate marine fuels.
