  1. Handle and manage all administrative and personnel matters related to various Maritime administration and General administration wings.
  2. Take decisions on disciplinary, vigilance, and court-related matters.
  3. Oversee recruitment initiatives and training-related programs.
  4. Ensure proper maintenance of service records and review under applicable rules.
  5. Administer employee welfare schemes including leave, GPF, LTC, and other entitlements.

Training Branch
  1. Supervision and regulation of all Maritime Training Institutes (MTIs) under various regional jurisdictions.
  2. Handling of grievances, court cases, VIP references, and legal matters related to MTIs.
  3. Drafting and implementation of training-related circulars, orders, and policy directives.
  4. Management and submission of RTIs, parliamentary questions, and official reports.
  5. Coordination with internal branches and regional offices for smooth functioning.
  6. Resolution of technical issues, CET matters, and system transition activities.
  7. Leadership in decision-making and enforcement of training standards and compliance.

IT & E-Governance Branch
  1. Manage all activities related to e-Governance initiatives and digital transformation.
  2. As a web administrator, manage official DGS website, social media accounts and ensure timely dissemination of information.
  3. Ensure cybersecurity, data protection, and system integrity across digital platforms.
  4. Ensure compliance with government IT standards and guidelines.
  5. Support policy formulation and execution related to IT infrastructure and E-Procurement.

Mercantile Marine Law Branch
  1. MSL Branch - I: Handles legal aspects related to Vigilance, IT and E-Governance Branch, Personnel Branch, Administration Branch, Public Grievances, and the General Branch.
  2. MSL Branch - II: Handles legal matters for three technical wings/divisions: Engineering, Nautical, and Naval Architecture.
