The Directorate General of Shipping, India, played a pivotal role on Day 1 of the 11th session of the International Maritime Organization Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training, and Watchkeeping (HTW-11) in London, reaffirming India's commitment to global maritime training and safety standards.

Key Contributions:


  • Submission of 13 technical papers (HTW 11/6/8 to 11/6/21), all successfully progressing to the next stage.
  • Active engagement in Working Groups on the comprehensive review of the 1978 STCW Convention, training for alternative fuels, and development of model courses.
  • Strategic intervention in discussions on STCW oversight and IMSAS, ensuring a structured and progressive approach.
